About Joy

My name is Joy Davy, and I am here to help you get to where you want to go.

I have been helping people find their paths since 2000, when I began working with survivors of domestic violence. In my life I have been a college English instructor, a free-lance artist, a bilingual elementary school teacher, and a doula!

I went back to university in my late 40s to earn my masters in counseling, and became a therapist.

At 57, I  self-published a non-fiction book under my own name. It is about pet grief, and can be found on Amazon. The title is Healing Circles.

I wrote and traditionally published my first novel (under a pseudonym) at the age of 60, and then wrote two more.

I began studying my fourth language, German, at the age of 62. At 67, I added Life Coaching to my professional portfolio to work on redesigning life with women like you—and like me—who keep on growing with intention.

I am fluent in Spanish and French and am happy to coach in these languages!

I have a masters degree in English, a masters degree in Counseling, and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. In my work with you, I am a Master Certified Life Coach.

All of this is only to say, I understand that inner prompting to forge a new path, to create a new dimension in life; I’ve done it a few times, and I would love nothing more than to help you to realize your own dreams, whatever they might be.

I see clients virtually and work with people in Skokie, Norridge, Oak Park, Darien, Chicago, Gurnee, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, Oak Brook, New York City, Phoenix, Quebec City, Montreal, Mexico and France.

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, my full name is Karen Joy Davy. License # 180.008565. South Carolina Behavioral Telehealth Reg # pending.
